More Important than Trials

Sometimes it takes more faith to stay than to go.
Often trusting God involves growing right where you are—
not assuming a change of scene will change you."
-E.H.

I came across this quote while cleaning out my inbox. I do not know where it came from or who "E.H." is, but reading this quote was very timely today. I think many times in life, I feel "stuck" and can't go anywhere but the place I'm in. This quote reminds me, as does God's Word, that the place where I am today is the best place God has for me and that He is using it for my good, even if it doesn't feel like. How quickly my faith crumbles when trials and the thought of never coming out of them come into view? No, there is more at stake.

In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. I Peter 1:6-7

Christ's glory and honor are at stake. My faith is at stake. These are more important and more precious than my trials.
