Sunday Night at the Hess'

"Look! We found a new toy for Sara!"
B. Hess

(It wasn't the exact same toy, but very similar.
I had some fun with Luke's toys at his 1 year old birthday party.)

"Yeah, I have a 6th child." B. Hess
"At least I go home when it's time to go to bed." -Me

15 away...

Hey everyone,

I am 15 posts away from my 500th post. Wow!

I wanted to throw a question out there. Do you have a favorite post from Stank'N Rank'N? I think in celebration of 500, I wanted to re-post readers favorites. If you can comment in this post below with the post and the reason it's your favorite, I will then re-post them with readers comments.

To aid you in your quest, at the end of my blog, there is a handy search function to look for things on Stank'N Rank'N like for instance "shoes." Or you could look my tag list for things like "Just for Fun," or "hawaii trip" or "random" if you feeling adventurous. I had to look at "random" myself and it truly is random!

I can't wait to see the results!

Switcheroo

So I am switching from drinking soda to tea. It's alot cheaper and alot healthier. I placed a poll on my blog about drink preferences. I would be curious what people prefer. Check it out!

Gettin' My Geek on

Ok, so on this blog, I've revealed some things about me. Well here's another one.

Drum roll.... I am a Trekkie. How am I a Trekkie? Well, let's let the facts speak for themselves.

1. I had a pair of Vulcan ears when I was younger. No there is no picture although now I wish there was. I was probably a cute Vulcan with pointy ears and curly hair. Hmm...that sounds more like elvish...Rivendell Elvish.

2. I have an autograph character trading card with Lt. Worf and I still have it. I actually got to meet Michael Dorn who plays the Klingon when I was 12. He was a very nice man with hairy arms.

3. I went to a Star Trek convention. That's how #2 happened.

4. My favorite Star Trek series has to be Star Trek: The Next Generation. Great writing, great actors and great characters.

5. I have also seen all episodes of #4 which comes out to be 178 episodes on television as they aired. The first episode aired on September 28, 1987 with and concluded after seven seasons on May 23, 1994. (Yeah I had no life back then)

I could go on, but I want to leave some mystery left about me. :)

So, why am I gettin' my geek on? Well I have seen the new trailer for the new movie Star Trek that's meant to revive the Star Trek universe.

The trailer is good. It's definitely got my ears itchin'.

My favorite is Kurt's face...

Does your pastors have moves like this?

Please note - I did not create this but I do heartily endorse it and will work to promote it.

Straightened Out...

I got my hair washed, cut and styled today at my new favorite place - Tangles!

No I didn't cut my hair - I am going to keep it long! And the straightening is only temporary until the next wash. I still have my curly wavy crazy hair!

Toodles!

So... Part II

So...

What does it say about a person, now people, who sends you, inappropriate, albeit highlarious, emails all because said person sent the right email to the wrong person (me) and I was merely pointing out (mocking them of) their email snafu.

I wish I could post their emails here, but my blog would probably get the big FLAG. Let's just say it has to do with chapter 9.

Thanks Julie (said person), Lisa and Laura (said people)!

This makes me cry..in a good way

The Never-Ending Trim Story

How long does it take to trim my lawn? Apparently 3 days.

Monday night – I mow the lawn and get ready to trim and thought I had the batteries charged, but alas they’re dead.

Tuesday night – batteries are charged, am happily trimming, then all of a sudden the spool/line falls out. Cannot fix. Run to Lowe’s for replacement spool. Too dark to finish trimming. Too many shadows.

What would take an hour at most has turned into 3 hours over the course of 3 nights. Will tonight be the conclusion of this story? Stay tuned…

So..

what does it say about a person who sends you a random email to send a random email to someone you thought was the right person but ending up being the wrong person?

Classic. Right up there with wearing mismatched shoes to work.

Thanks Julie. :)

Road to 1 Single Day

With the Olympics underway, I thought I would take a moment to make some comments.

1. Beijing may have venues like "The Bird's Nest" and "The Watercube," but we have "The Barn" and "The Lounge."

2. Beijing's culinary offers cooked scorpions on a stick. We will be offering marshmallows on a stick over a roaring campfire.

3. We will have ultimate frisbee at 1 Single Day, which hopefully one day will become an Olympic sport.

4. Instead of teams representing countries as in Beijing, family groups at 1 single day will be representing "the butterflies," "the surfer dudes" and the "shooting stars" as marked by their tattoos.

5. The Beijing Olympics is being shown in high-definition on television. 1 single day, unfortunately, won't. But coming to it live is so much better than HD!

What comparisons or contrasts can you make with the Beijing Olympics and 1 single day?
